The youngest was the most loved.

Charley Hull is team Europe’s wildcard pick for this years Solheim Cup in Denver, Colorado.

Hull told the The Telegraph:

“I’m sure every player will be nervous when they tee it up in the Solheim Cup, but I don’t see why, just because I’m the youngest and most inexperienced, that I should feel more pressure than anybody else. I’m just going to go out there, feel the passion and whack it around the course as well as I can. I’m not going to let it get to me.”

Ballsy.

Please send the Green Cross Parcel o my great friend Joyce in Perth Australia. Even after 30 years in Australia she misses the Irish ‘stuff’. She is recovering from her breast cancer operation and is still in hospital after 5 weeks. She could do with a taste of home.

Carton House has hosted some of the world’s finest golfers at the 2005 and 2006 Irish Opens. Carton House is home to two magnificent golf courses The Montgomerie Golf Course and the O’Meara Golf Course.

Seve Ballesteros could put a ball anywhere from the trees to the middle of a fairway.

Tom Watson said in the Irish Times in April 1983 after Seve’s second Masters win:

“Seve is an aggressive, flamboyant type of player. He’s an Arnold Palmer type of competitor. When he’s playing well, he can shoot the lights out”.

 

Seve would have turned 56 this week.
