Zombie/Vampire/Werewolf.

Can it possibly fail?

Ralph Hosford writes:

We are two Irish guys who have just launched a Kickstarter campaign for a monstrous game called ZompireWolf. You may have come across this character on the Huffington Post or seen the Rubberbandits talking about it on Facebook! ZompireWolf is part Zombie, part Vampire and part Werewolf… and all trouble! We hope we have created on of the most unique characters ever but may be slightly biased!

hound

Ireland’s greatest legend.

Needs YOUR help.

Paul Bolger writes:

Just wondering if you might give us a bit or coverage and a shout out to potential backers to the 2nd Kickstarter we are running for my Cu Chulainn graphic novel trilogy, “Hound”.

It  ends on Sept. 11 and got off to a great start but we need to boost backer numbers to make the target. We are talking to publishers about doing a paperback edition for worldwide release but I want to Kickstart the creation of the art and produce a high end edition to showcase what it possible.

Barry Devlin (ex-Horslips) co-wrote the book and film adaptation, which is ongoing. The film is being developed in partnership with Oscar winning UK producer Hugh Welchman and was supported by The Irish Film Board and Northern Ireland Screen.

I’ve been working for the past few months on making a pair of inside out jeans – and just launched a kickstarter campaign… I wonder if you could help get the ball rolling on it by giving it a little push?

Life Hack Posters are graphic prints all about life hacks – tips & tricks to save time, do things smarter and make life  easier… I’m a very visual person and rely on graphic reminders (like sticky notes, whiteboards, etc.) to remind me to do things. I wanedt to create exceptionally designed posters illustrating different life hacks for people to display in their homes, offices and businesses….

Remember that strangeness on Sandymount Strand in September?

It was the ‘making of’ a promotional video for Z Charge, the fiendish new “bedside solution” that can charge and store up to six electronic devices WHILE you sleep or go about your ‘business’.

It changes charges everything.

Z Charge Product designer Paula O’Connor writes:

“We have just gone live with the Z Charge on Kickstarter.com – which officially launches its Irish site today. We have been chosen for ‘Staff Picks’ on the site so are super excited and we would love it if Broadsheet readers could take a second to have a look and maybe even back us!

Luke Brennan of Irish-based ‘power supply finder’ MyVolts.com writes:

“We couldn’t be the only Irish company wound up about Kickstarter [crowd funding behemoth] launching in Ireland. A year of work has gone into getting it ready, just putting the finishing touches to our video on Sandymount Strand yesterday….”

Anyone?

Paul Bolger (a former animator with the Don Bluth Studio as well as his own studio Dagda Film) along with Barry Devlin (the Horslips front man) are attempting to bring their vision of the Cú Chulainn legend to life in a new graphic novel triology.

They spin the story as:

In this forgotten world where war once ruled peace reigns supreme and this is killing Morrigan, last of the Long Lived. In a desperate bid to stay vital she kidnaps baby Cú Cullan and exposes the child to her darkness imbuing him with unnatural strength and agility, but at a price. He inherits her dark hair, eyes and unpredictable brooding nature. He is not easy to be around. Although physically smaller than his peers he has the status of a giant. Friend and foe fear him. Since killing a Blacksmith’s guard dog and taking it’s place as a child, hence his nickname, HOUND, he has earned a reputation for never letting anyone or anything get in the way of that which he wants more than anything else – to be Champion of the World.

They’re a bit more than a third of the ways to the £22K goal with 17 days to go.

Not that such comparisons make Hound any less excellent: Frank Miller meets Sláine, anyone?

Belfast based developers Chris McClelland and Niall Kelly of Cargo love a bit of homebrew.

As tends to happen with the hobby, their setup moved from a few plastic buckets to a Frankenstein’s monster of copper tubing, stainless steel drums and wired sensors.

Barring developing a case of Auto-Brewery Syndrome, they figured they could develop a more streamline process out of their experiments.

Enter Brewbot

…a smart brewing appliance that you can control and monitor with your smartphone. Never brewed? No problem. Our goal was to make an easy-to-use, controlled environment that is aesthetically pleasing, and frees up brewers to focus on the recipes. You don’t need to know anything about brewing.

The lads are so passionate about this project they moved the whole team en masse to Portland, Oregon, the micro-brewery capital of America, to refine the product.

Coming in at £1,500 it’s pricer than just buying your beer straight off the shelf but it certainly beats the prison wine we’ve been brewing in my den the Broadsheet office.

YOUR thoughts?

The PiP biosensor is a little gadget that helps you manage stress.

It does this by detecting your stress levels through biofeedback and using this to control a game.

If you’re relaxed you’ll win, so the game trains you to manage your own stress levels through a positive feedback loop.

The guys involved in this have been plugging away at it for a few years and are at that tipping point of having a product ready to be manufactured if they can get the cash to fund it.

It’s an idea Kickstarter project and is 60% funded with 4 days to go so why don’t you help push it over the line?

Disclaimer: I’ve worked with some of the people involved in this in a previous company but I wasn’t asked to post this.
