At a very troubled time in our country, his bravery was rare. He was the finest public servant I have had the privilege to know. May he rest in peace with his beloved wife, Pat.”
Former minister Mary Harney. a founder member of the Progressive Democrats alongside Des O’Malley.
“From early 2006 and the PDs propose moving Dublin Port to Drogheda using a comparison with Helsinki. The move was to happen over a 20 year period with a ‘New Quarter’ proposed where Dublin Port is. This ‘New Quarter’ was to be filled with high rise buildings, a port for cruise liners and much more.”
