I know you don’t normally do this but my phone was swiped from my coat pocket on Saturday night. Did the old ‘find my iPhone’ app next morning and sure enough there it is in a house on Dublin’s inner city.
My boyfriend [Eoghan] thought it would be a good idea to rock over to the house & confront the robber so that’s what we (he) did. I waited in the cab while he bravely hopped out & knocked on the door.
A chap opened up and Eoghan proceeded to tell him that my phone had been ‘mislaid’ and was showing up at that location. The guy asked what type of phone and then vanished back inside. Upon returning he presented Eoghan with the iPhone4 and claimed his female friend had found the phone the previous night.
We couldn’t believe it and even gave the guy a few quid for his, erm, honesty. We drove away, in amazement not quite sure what had just happened and then I clicked the home button…not my phone!
The phone in my hand, which read ‘No Service’ (meaning the owner had clearly had it blocked by the provider) belongs to a girl called Tess (see screen grab of homescreen above) Basically I’m looking for her to give her back her phone & build my courage to head back out there to retrieve my own phone…which is still showing up in his house!!

Anyone?

I know you don’t normally do this, but my mates dog ‘Bobby’ is missing in Castleknock/Carpenterstown Dublin 15 since 1pm today and am particularly worried because of this storm. He’s a Japanese Spitz with a blue collar.

Update: 9:29pm

Bobby is home! A lady found him and posted a pic on Facebook which made it’s way back to my friend.

Yay!

“I know you don’t normally do this, but my bike has been stolen.. “Dorothy” is a No Logo bike, with red wheels and black Gatorskin tyres. The frame is black, and the seat is now worn down and almost completely white. Whoever took it got through a Kryptonite lock. Last seen around Barrow Street [Dublin] on Wednesday evening. Heartbroken without her. If anyone sees her, will you tweet me a photo @ConorKav or leave details with Broadsheet [below]”. In addition, as a member of the LGBT community – thanks for featuring the Pantigate issue so much.”

Have you tried Kansas?

It was recommended I contact you regarding a witness appeal. In December i was knocked off my bike [above] by a taxi on Aungier Street, Dublin [Outside ‘National Maps’ (No.34) at 11.30pm-12.30am on December 7]. It was witnessed by three lads [age 18-22] who got the taxi reg. but in my disorientation i failed to get their contact details. I was injured and  suffered concussion from the accident  and Gardai would like to speak with them. Thanks.

I appreciate you don’t normally do this but I live in Clane, Co Kildare. The past few days there has been a little dog wandering around, and today I found he is sheltering in my garden. He was really hungry but is otherwise well cared for. He has a collar, but the vet is closed so I cannot tell if he is tagged. Definitely a pet, he is very friendly and house broken, and I think has been starved of company for the last short while. I’ve called the Kildare SPCA but they and other homes are full but have noted my call in case an owner calls. Have let the local guards know and went door to door. No luck so far.

Anyone?

hotel-la-stampa-dublin-021Do you know anyone working nights at the Dawson Street rank {above}?

Please read on.

I got a taxi from Dawson Street around 1.30am to Glasnevin, on the N2 right across from Glasnevin Cemetery Last night.

I left a a red and white Christmas gift bag of presents containing an ipod, iphone accessories, gold necklace and ring (which are not for me sadly) in the back of the taxi. As I picked it up on the street I have no details about this taxi.

I have contacted all the major taxi companies in Dublin and contacted Store Street Garda Station without any success. I went to a lot of trouble to get one of the particular presents in the bag so I’m pretty gutted I was so careless. I would be so grateful if anybody has picked it up or the driver still has it please get in contact or hand it in somewhere. As it is the season of good will,
I’m hoping that people are considerate and decent. PLEASE please help me out. It’s my final day of work and it would make my day and my Christmas if I got my bag back…

Anyone?
