Sacred Space by London based artist (and former computer technician) Leonardo Ulian is a series of artworks inspired by the meditative depictions of the cosmos in Hinduism and Buddhism.
From flat geometric patterns to the miniature tree sculpture entitled Centrica Bonsai, all are made from soldered-together defunct radio and computer components of which Ulian sez:
“We live in a society that worships electronic technology,” he states “both for necessity but also because it makes us feel better, not unlike its own new form of fashionable spirituality.”
Sacred Space is currently on exhibitiion at the Beers Contemporary Gallery in London.
The Wolfe Tone Statue by Eddie Delaney, St Stephen’s Green, Dublin during the St Patrick festival week in March.
Rebecca Black tweetz:
History Ireland is displeased that there are no commemorations of the 250th anniversary of Wolfe Tone’s birth
Born in Dublin on June 20th 1763. Wolfe Tone is considered the father of Irish republicanism.
He attempted to unite Catholic, Protestant and Dissenter.
He was also fond of a drink or three.
Why has the anniversary of his birth gone largely unnoticed?
Is it ‘cos he was a prod? Anyone?

Mark ‘Sparky’ Rutherford arrived at league of Ireland club Shelbourne FC on loan from Birmingham City in 1991.
He has since played for Bohemians, Shamrock Rovers, St. Patrick’s Athletic and Longford Town.
And he’s still playing.
Niall Farrell writes
As part of FARE week, the 1895 Trust, the Supporters Trust for Shelbourne FC fans, has produced a documentary focusing on the career of Mark Rutherford. Rutherford talks about his career in Irish football, how he deals with discrimination and why, into his 40s, he still plays football.
The Trust is also working with Show Racism the Red Card and the FAI at tonight’s game in Tolka Park against Drogheda United to raise awareness of the aims of FARE week amongst fans of both clubs.
