What you may need to know:

1. The first Kick-Ass (2010), well, it kicked ass. So here’s another one, based again on comics by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr. The sub-title? Balls To The Wall.

2. Kick-Ass director Matthew Vaughan got snapped up to do another fine superhero flick, X-Men: First Class (2011). This time out, he’s producing.

3. Replacing Nic Cage in the scene-chewing supporting role: Jim Carrey, who, between this and Burt Wonderstone (2013), looks like he gives a shit for the first time in ages. Now can we finally have that Dumb And Dumber (1994)  sequel?

4. Aaron Taylor-Johnson-Wood, who plays Kick-Ass, has been putting in some gym time. He also just landed the lead in the Godzilla reboot.

5. Broadsheet Prognosis: Dodgy green screen work aside, this looks like a TON of fun.

Who sez:

One of my favourite things about Dublin is the music gigs. I’ve been able to see bands that I wouldn’t have thought I’d ever see while living in Seville. Dublin has such a thriving music scene! I remember being amazed at seeing a full venue wanting to see what I would have thought were obscure bands… of any genre. Some of my favourite gigs include Therapy?, Bang on a Can, Slint… to mention a few.

American photographer Doug DuBois spent his summers in Cobh County, Cork on the southeast coast of Ireland where he serves as artist-in-residence at the Sirius Arts Center. Over the past four years, DuBois has documented the lives of some of Ireland’s teenagers, coming of age.
“I think I set the record for the longest running artist-in-residence,” DuBois told TIME, describing a project which began in 2009 and resulted in My Last Day at Seventeen.
“The photographs here look at the bravado and adventure of childhood with an eye towards its fragility and inevitable loss,” DuBois wrote about the project.
