In case you missed it, the live broadcast event the Discovery Channel has been plugging for weeks took place on Sunday as ‘aerialist’ Nik Wallenda became the first person to wire-walk across the Grand Canyon.
He did it in a 40mph cross-wind on a two inch wide cable with a 43 foot balancing pole and no safety harness. It took him 22 minutes at a nice, steady, Jesus-thanking pace and he ran the last bit.
Next, he wants to cross from the Empire State to the Chrysler building in New York City.

Very sorry to be bothering you but we’re in a proper pickle here. We opened the Sea Sessions festival at the weekend on the main stage at 6.30pm. We took loads of footage on a Sony camera, which, unfortunately, went missing (cause of missing camera is potentiallyone too many but it was a music festival. It was expected :)) We really need to get the camera back as the video to our next single is going to be made up of loads of on the road footage and the camerahas loads of this, including studio work. We know full well the reach that Broadsheet has so if you could assist we’d really appreciate it. As a reward we are offering the person who finds it passes to all of our gigs in 2013 along with some pretty exclusive merchandise, which we will personalise as much as possible. Thanks in advance for helping us out here. You could be a life-saver!

Independent TD Clare Daly’s attack on Ireland’s ‘slobbering’ relationship with the United States approaches a million views on You Tube this evening.
Clare play though, in fairness.
