Bunch O Balloons – a garden hose attachment invented by Texas-based dad of eight Josh Malone.
It splits the hose’s water stream into 37 miniature pipes, each feeding pre-tied, self-sealing water balloons that detach with a light shake when full.
A work of evil genius currently massively overfunded on Kickstarter and almost certainly a thing you can buy soon.
Brine Pimp
atThe prototype QUANT e-sportslimousine debuted at the Geneva motor show last March – a four-seat roadster with four electric motors (one per wheel) drawing power from redox flowcell technology developed by NASA in the 1970s.
912bhp, 900km range, 0-100km/h in 2.8s, 380km/h – approved this month for use on European roads, so no mere concept.
All generated by nothing more than salt water.
FAR Out
atThe ‘CJ5 House’ – an innovative, inward-looking residence maximising the Floor Area Ratio (FAR = 1.0) of a 5m x 35m side on the outskirts of Vienna by filling the entire site.
Designed by Caramel Architekten, the peaks and troughs of the roofline create a series of levels and voids for the interlocking rooms and enclosed courtyard beneath. Heavy insulation, heat pump and photovoltaics make the house virtually independent from the grid.
And the neighbours.
