Lost Lake in Oregon’s Mount Hood National Forest is something of a local conundrum. Filled by mountain streams during Winter, the lake drains down a lava tube, emptying like a bathtub every Spring.
The water is thought to simply disappear into the porous volcanic substrate.
Any attempt to plug the hole would likely result in local flooding, cutting off the nearby intersection of two major highways.

Last week I decided to try turn one of the weird little ideas that pop into my head into a short animated sketch. The result is this – “My Dog Nathan”.I wrote, animated, voiced and scored it and I’m really happy with how this turned out and hopefully it’ll be the first of many little videos if people are interested in seeing more.
