Give the gift of home made art with a heart.

Rachel Corcoran writes:

I am a freelance illustrator and designer from Dublin.

I love to create little illustrated worlds and bespoke designs in my tiny Dublin studio. I’m a never-ending daydreamer, and all items in my shop are original creations that are lovingly handmade by myself.

My illustrations are whimsical, nostalgic, and unique. I care a lot about this wonderful planet of ours, so all my products are created with environmentally-friendly materials. My prints and cards are printed on high quality 100% recycled papers, and packaged in biodegradable corn starch sleeves; art with a heart.

Hally – Dreamers Novel (song number 42)

As you may know, Naas-based songsmith Hally is hoping to become first Irish Musician to release 52 songs in 52 weeks.

Cecilia Saviotti writes:

Hally, gave himself an insanely ambitious project. At the beginning of 2017 he set himself the challenge of releasing 52 songs, one song per week, to be completed by the end of the year.

The project is called “Peeling Onions” and not only is he producing one song per week (writing, recording, mixing and mastering all of them by himself) he is also creating a custom made video for each track.

There are only 4 weeks to go and 9 songs left … will he make it?

Hally is hoping to go live on Facebook to present his final piece of work, on Sunday December 31, 2017.

Two shows!

Improv for ALL ages!

Neil Curran (him off the telly) writes:

Taking place in the Pearse Centre Theatre, 27 Pearse Street, Dublin 2, Love! Improv has TWO improv comedy events this Friday both of which are in aid of Crumlin Children’s Hospital.

The Super Awesome Family Show (5:30pm) brings improv comedy to all the family. Two teams will battle for the love of the audience in a spontaneous show using audience suggestions for inspiration.

Christmas Jumper Jam (8pm) is for a more mature audience, a chance for the audience to play or just sit back and enjoy the show. Christmas attire encouraged!

We will be collecting toys and hand delivering them to sick kids in Crumlin Hospital during Christmas week so if anyone has any unopened toys that they’d be willing to donate, it would be greatly appreciated! (The only toys the hospital can’t take are teddies and cuddly toys)…

Remember Irish lesbian Mom?

Birdie writes:

A while ago I messaged you about my blog, ‘Irish lesbian Mom’, because Twitter deemed that I was selling sexual services or products, I assumed it was due to their negative sexualisation of the word lesbian.

After feedback from the Broadsheet readers I changed the name of the blog to ‘Two Irish Mammies’ but still no joy.

After more dead ends with their customer service and generic emails I took the advice of one Broadsheet reader and sought the advice of a solicitor.

A letter was sent citing my Data Protection rights and Twitter admitted that their policy team had judged my account incorrectly. I’m delighted that boring old me is not deemed pornographic.

I just want to say thanks to all the lovely comments and helpful advice from your readers. They honestly motivated me to keep at it as a matter of principle…

In fairness.
