What you may need to know:
1. When Ryan Gosling is not acting, breaking up fights or being the face of the feminmeme he is making movies. This one is about a mother trying her best for her two kids in a Detroit ruined by a dammed river and gangsters.
2. Gosling has taken a more then a little inspiration from the work of Nicolas Winding Refn who he teamed up with for Drive (2011) and Only God Forgives (2013). He must also watch a lot of David Lynch and Terrence Malick movies.
3. By ‘a little inspiration’ we do mean Oasis levels of inspiration.
4. The trailer looks like a cool art film that we would like to see. The critics make us want to burn it with fire.
5. He put his ladyfriend in it which is cool. Saoirse Ronan in the house too!
6. Broadsheet Prognosis: Ryan Turkeyling

Seagulls.
They got game.
Emma from Troll Inc writes:
We’re an indie game development team in Derry, NI. We released a game at the start of the week and based on the high rate of seagull posts on your Twitter feed I thought you might want a look at it. Grand Theft Seagull sees a rogue seagull take to the skies and poo on the townsfolk as he steals their food! Available FREE on Android, iOS and Windows Phone [links below], it’s an endless flyer that’s full of shit! Feedback welcome….

A conference on women’s rights held at the University of Qassim in Saudi Arabia last year.
Not one female delegate, what with the strict Sharia Law in force.
The picture above, which appeared originally in the Arab speaking newspaper Okaz, has been doing the rounds of the French-speaking press this week.
