mittens

‘Sup?

Michael O’Riordan writes:

I know you don’t normally do this – well this may be a first – but a mislaid pair of cute kitten mittens spotted on the 7:30 pm Bus Eireann 120 bus to Edenderry [Co Offaly] last night. Left on the luggage rack upstairs probably missed when the owner got off on an earlier journey.

I alerted  in case they are a treasured pair and likely can be collected from the lost and found in a day or so. I know my little one was devastated when she lost her pair of Dora (don’t ask!) gloves a few years back.

RTÉ reports:

New figures show that 468 families became homeless in Dublin last year, including 1,000 children. This amounts to more than one family a day becoming homeless in the capital, nearly double the rate of 2013 when 240 families were affected.”

“90% of them were homeless for the first time. Many are being housed in emergency accommodation such as hotels for long periods due to a critical shortage of affordable housing.

The route between Topaz, Cemetery Cross and Shannon Dry Cleaners, Prospect Hill.

How long?

A friend of mine unfortunately lost a large sum of money in Galway City today on Bohermore Road. If anyone found a load of €50 notes blowing around in the wind and sleet [Yes, lovely loose notes] we’re hoping they will be very nice and email us here [broadsheet@broadsheet.ie] or hand it into the Gardaí where my friend has left her details. The money was taken out at the [Topaz] petrol station at Cemetery Cross and she noticed it was gone by the time she got to Shannon Dry Cleaners [Prospect Hill].

What you may need to know:

1. It’s the apocalypse and murdering bad-asses and shoulder pad makers are cleaning up. A teenager finds an ancient turbo charged weapon and sets about cleaning house and protecting his moth Apple. Yes, moth.

2. This is nothing to do with Turbo Man (1996) or a fast snail (2013). This is Turbo Kid and it made the Sundance Festival Official Selection.

3. There are other short clips available to view if you have an appetite for 80’s synth and an internet connection.

4. It is an expansion of a short film called ‘T is for Turbo’ which was submitted to the ABCs of Death anthology.

5. Jason Eisener of Hobo with a Shotgun (2011) fame is producing along with the short film’s original French creators.

6. There is no general release date yet but they do have the twitter @turbokidfilm so, you know.
