The young man who died in a stabbing in Cork last night has been named as 20-year old Cameron Blair, a second-year student at Cork Institute of Technology.
Cameron was from the village of Ballinascarthy in west Cork.
He is survived by his parents and younger brother.
Cameron is understood to have been at a party in the house he lived in on Bandon Road last night when a dispute arose at around 9.10pm, during which he was stabbed.

Gardai at the scene where a 45-year-old man was stabbed to death in the early hours of this morning. A second man, who was injured in the incident, is being treated in hospital.

The incident occurred near the GPO on O’Connell Street at around 1.40am.
It is believed the man who died was stabbed several times following an altercation between two men who had previously been talking to each other on the street.

A woman in her 40s is being questioned in connection with the death of a man at a house in Tudor Lawns, Foxrock in Dublin.
The body of the man, who was in his 20s, was found at around 11.30pm last night.It is understood he suffered serious stab wounds.
The body remains at the scene.

“A 21-year-old Irishman was stabbed in the neck during a drunken street brawl in Scarborough. Police received reports of three to four men fighting on Helmsley Street about 2.30pm yesterday.
“Insp. David Picton-King said the Kenwick man, an Australian resident, was kicked, punched and stabbed in the neck, while another man had a bottle smashed over his head during the fracas. He said the men involved had been drinking when the fight broke out. There were several witnesses to the brawl.
“A St John Ambulance spokeswoman said the Kenwick man was taken to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. He remains in a critical condition this morning. Police have charged a 32-year-old Atwell man with intent to do grievous bodily harm. He will appear in the Perth Magistrate’s Court today.”
