Dear Sinead,

I would like to apologise to you for any hurt that I have caused you by my remark on twitter on Friday night.

I should not have said it, I have deleted the tweet and I hope you will accept my apology.

I agree completely with what you said about the exploitation of young women.

aiweiweibicycles01Jeremy Maxwell Kanwar Sandhutonoariki tonoariki2As part of this year’s Scotiabank Nuit Blanche in Toronto – a nighttime art event hosted in the streets of the city – Chinese artist and activist Ai Weiwei has installed a 9 meter high, 30 meter long labyrinth of 3,144 bicycles illuminated with blue and pink lights.

A much larger version of a work exhibited in Taipei last year entitled Forever Bicycles, it reflects the artist’s perception of the rapid pace of Chinese social change. Ai Weiwei couldn’t attend the 2011 exhibition as he faced arrest for his continuing critical stance on Chinese government policy.

Now that’s an artist’s statement.

The exhibition continues in Nathan Phillips Square until October 27th.

Took these photos [three in total] today at [Redacted], they were still asleep when I passed again an hour later. So much so that they didn’t notice me standing in front of their truck taking photos.

You’d think at least one would be keeping sketch, in fairness.

There are a multitude of innocent and entirely legitimate reasons why several men might be asleep for more than an hour in a truck during the day. As Karl and Bodger can readily testify.

We have therefore made all efforts to obscure the identity of those dozing, location and time, etc.
