Hooch-infused high and low jinks depicted in a black and white video portrait of Cork city at night.
Shot on multiple nights but mainly in Oliver Plunkett Street on Arthur’s Day and during the Guinness Cork Jazz Festival last year.

New York based artist Samantha Keely Smith’s multilayered abstract ‘seascapes’ that are not in fact seascapes. In an interview with Never Lazy magazine she described them as:
…not at all real places or even inspired by real places. They are emotional and psychological places. Internal landscapes, if you will. The tidal pull and power of the ocean makes sense to me in terms of expressing these things, and I think that is why some of the work has a feel of water about it. My work speaks of things that are timeless, and I think that for most of us the ocean represents something timeless.
Are you Free WEDNESDAY night?

We are having a really kickass feminist table quiz to raise funds for a Palestine human rights group called Addameer; they work to free all political prisoners (many of whom are children) who are detained in Israeli and Palestinian prisons). The quiz takes place on WEDNESDAY (April 30) at 8pm, at The Front Lounge, €10/person and four people per team. (The poster says €7 but it’s a mistake).
The quiz has a feminist theme and some awesome prizes for winners and losers! We are excited about the event as its a chance for people to come together and do fun activities for a great human rights group.
