Behold: the S1 Project – a hypercar from Ares – an American company best known for creating bespoke versions of luxury performance cars and SUVs.

A showcase of computational fluid dynamics and track-hugging carbon fibre, the 715bhp, V8 S1 accelerates to 100kmh in 2.7 seconds. 24 will be made next year and the price of yours is available on request.

Behold: the Juiced Hyperscambler 2 – a dinky but powerful e-bike with 160km of range and a top speed of 48km/h.

Along with an optional dual battery setup, the bike has a more than decent 1,000W motor, hydraulic disc brakes, puncture-resistant tires and an oversized, motorcycle-grade LED headlight.

Available later this year from €2,100 (plus shipping).

Behold: the Aston Martin Victor – unveiled at last weekend’s Hampton Court Concours – a one-off, road-legal 836bhp, 7.3L V12 supercar incorporating elements of the One-77, Valkyrie and Vulcan – of which it is intended as an ultra-exclusive tribute.

Created (wait – is there a Bond movie on the way?) by Aston Martin’s bespoke Q Division, which is an actual thing.

Behold: the Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta Competizione – one of the most sought-after and influential vehicles in automotive history. Or not.

This car is a ‘revival edition’ – a replica created from drawings, measurements, and information acquired from the vehicle’s initial run by GTO Engineering.

Upgraded with a custom tubular frame, hand-beaten aluminium panelling, improved suspension, steering and wheel alignment, the car has a 280bhp Columbo V12 engine and will set you back somewhere in the region of €850,000 (+shipping), which is a lot less than the €7 million+ you’d likely pay for the real thing.

Behold: the 2021 Rolls Royce Ghost – a bourgemobile for a new era, apparently. Reengineered from the ground up, with four wheel drive, four wheel steering and electronic doors (no more chauffeur standing in the rain or finding an abandoned airfield to turn in), toning down the Parthenon grille, minimising the Spirit of Ecstasy figurehead but retaining RR’s bespoke interiors, uncluttered controls and ‘constellation’ headliner.

Yours for €280,000 (+ options).

Behold: the longest glass bottomed bridge in the world, extending for over half a kilometre 200 metres above the Lianjiang River in China’s Huangchuan Three Gorges Scenic Area. Designed by Architectural Design & Research Institute of Zhejiang University, the span comprises three layers of 4.5cm-thick glass lined with steel and suspended from cables.

Capable of supporting 500 people at a time, it’s a lot more stable than the previous record holder.

colossal

Behold: the 1971 Lamborghini Miura P400 SV Speciale – the world’s first mid-engined supercar. Launched in 1964 and based on Kiwi test driver Bob Wallace’s experimental Miura Jota, only 764 were made of which only 150 were SVs.

This vehicle, with its original 385bhp 4-litre V12 power plant and Oro Metallizzato paintwork has had a full Concours restoration, making it, arguably, the finest survivor of its type.

Yours at auction tomorrow (for the second time this year) for about €2.25 million.
