A new documentary series – an Irish/Welsh BBC/TG4 co-production by Tua Films & One Tribe TV – on the Celtic coasts.

This landmark natural history series sees naturalist Eoin Warner (top) take viewers on a breath-taking journey of discovery around the spectacular Celtic coasts of Ireland and Wales, exploring the extraordinary hidden wildlife around our shores – from our shallows to the deep.

Iontais na bhFarraigí Ceilteacha was filmed over two years in Ultra High Definition (UHD) by some of the filmmakers behind natural history series Blue Planet, in a corner of these islands which has never previously been explored in such sumptuous detail – Ireland’s sunny southeast and the Welsh coast.

The camera team has captured an incredible array of species including blue sharks, basking sharks and Fin whales – all swimming and hunting off our Celtic shores. From Wexford’s Saltee Islands, Eoin observes the guillemots – seabirds that can ‘fly’ underwater, and we also encounter the humble blenny fish getting washed-up – but the blenny can breathe on land!

Our team has captured some remarkable and exciting new behaviours that have never been filmed in Celtic waters before: such as the courtship rituals of bottle-nosed dolphins as well as astonishing footage of basking sharks congregating off the Irish coast.

Our dive team also filmed the wonders of the Celtic deep where we discover sex-shifting cuckoo wrasse, huge sea urchins, ancient lobsters and a giant conger eel, all hiding in a wreck.

Further to claims by mRNA vaccine pioneer Dr. Robert Malone on Joe Rogan’s podcast that a large portion of society is under ‘Mass Formation Psychosis’, essentially in a state of hypnosis ‘and can be led anywhere’…

You might have a look at this video (above) It’s in Dutch but has English subtitles and to my mind the translation is very good. Essentially it’s about mass psychosis and the slide towards totalitarianism in times of Covid.

The interviewee, Mattias DeSmet, is an academic psychologist in Ghent university, he’s published a load of articles in English & Dutch and there is also a video of him on a German website speaking English.

He calls what is happening “mass formation”, likens it to 1930s Germany, but without labouring the point.

I feel that if it was possible to organise an interview with him, maybe a “Broadsheet on the Telly” session, it could bring the Covid debate in Ireland to a new level…

Brian Mooney‘s life-affirming 12 for 21 project – in which the Dubliner released a song a month on bandcamp – reached a fitting climax on Christmas Eve with this ode to open-hearted altruism.

Brian writes:

“I recorded this with Mark Dennehy some years ago in Stoneybatter. It was late..you can hear that on the track. I wanted accordion and Mark said he knew just the guy. A few phone calls later and I’m told that Maddog is on his way up from Co.Clare and will be with us before 2am. 4.30 am in comes Maddog.

“Some stories of how he slept in bushes and hitched his way to Dublin with his accordion.
Mark goes to the toilet and I see from the control room that Maddog has got his accordion tangled up in his piercings and chains… he’s stuck like a spider in a web. It took the three of us another 30 mins to untangle him from his chains.

“A lovely memory of one of the best sessions I ever did.

“Maddog of course was magic …

“Proceeds from bandcamp willl go to trailblaise, providing bikes to kids at Direct Provision centres (the national shame of our generation ).”

The Grand Lodge of Freemasons of Ireland grand secretary Philip Daley described the attack as “very serious” and “completely out of the blue”.

However, he said there had been previous demonstrations outside the hall and other Masonic halls in Ireland by anti-vaccination campaigners.

“The view is that we created the virus and we are part of the new world order and we have to be stopped. It’s ridiculous stuff,” he said.
