Are you Free WEDNESDAY night?
Amanda writes:
We are having a really kickass feminist table quiz to raise funds for a Palestine human rights group called Addameer; they work to free all political prisoners (many of whom are children) who are detained in Israeli and Palestinian prisons). The quiz takes place on WEDNESDAY (April 30) at 8pm, at The Front Lounge, €10/person and four people per team. (The poster says €7 but it’s a mistake).
The quiz has a feminist theme and some awesome prizes for winners and losers! We are excited about the event as its a chance for people to come together and do fun activities for a great human rights group.

Designed by Mexican architects p+0 Arquitectura, Casa Narigua is a cantilevered multi-level house on a steep slope in the mountains of Northern Mexico.
Constructed from concrete tinted with soil from the surrounding area and commanding spectacular views, it’s the holiday home that Tony Stark never bought.

Creator’s Project choose their eight favourite iterations of the iconic Simpsons opening sequence as imagined by guest directors and artists over the years including Banksy and Sylvain Chomet (above), Robot Chicken, Guillermo Del Toro, Michal Sorcha and a triplet of Bill Plymptons.
Every one a winner, in fairness.

What you may need to know.
1. Sure Fassbender’s teeth looked amazing on the Late Late on Friday, but Brendan Gleeson is still our greatest movie star. He’s worked with Spielberg, Scorsese, Scott (Ridley), Boyle (Danny) and The Smurfs, for starters. He’s Mad Eye Moody. And his sons are a new wave of Irish talent unto themselves.
2. So… what did we all think of Calvary (2013) then?
3. Gleeson and John Martin McDonagh are already at work on the third chapter of their ‘Glorified Suicide’ trilogy. Next time out, he’s playing a paraplegic.
4. The Grand Seduction is a Canadian film, co-starring Taylor Kitch, who was supposed to be The Next Big Thing, then starred in back-to-back bombs Battleship (2012) AND John Carter (2012). Still, we loved him in telly’s Friday Night Lights.
5. Broadsheet Prognosis: Always Bet On Brendan.
