deliveroo

With three €50 credit vouchers  for Deliveroo [online takeaway service] on offer we asked: how do YOU kill the average 32-minute waiting time for Deliveroo deliveries?

You answered in your dozens.

Winners:

Kolmo: “During the average 32-minute wait for Deliveroo I like to collect and fashion a number of discarded pallets into the rudimentary fo’castle of HMS Pinafore and perform the finale scene (Act II) from the Pirates of Penzance with full orchestral backing and a singing macaque. I find it important to get the performance wrapped-up before 32 minutes as it makes the doorbell difficult to hear, causing unnecessary delay and, logically, a cold batter sausage.”

ZeligIsJaded: “During the average 32-minute wait for Deliveroo I like to warm my plates in the cookeroo. Then I feederoo my cockatoo, practice on me didgeridoo, check Six-One for the hullabaloo, and just sit back and wait for my vindaloo.”

Reppy: ‘During the average 32-minute wait for Deliveroo I like to read an extensive article on the Fermi Paradox and consider how meaningless a 32 minute wait is in the entire length of time since the universe was created… and realise I forgot to order extra garlic mayo’

Thanks all

Donny (Balls.ie co-founder) writes:

Since 2010, Balls.ie have been trawling the Internet, listening to the beating heart of the Irish sports fan.. Along the way, there’s been a lot of eejitry and a few genuinely life-changing moments. Think back to the desolation when Ryan Crotty scored that try for the All-Blacks in the corner of Lansdowne Road in 2013. Or the ecstasy when Nigel Owens blew the final whistle on the 2015 Six Nations with England encamped on the French try line.

It’s our belief that many of the silliest and most important moments in irish life have happened on the sports pitch. This is our attempt to document them. To celebrate, we have FIVE copies of the Balls.ie Guide to Life  to give away.

To enter, just tell us who should have made the cover (above)?

Frilly Keane: “Gin. Gin Makes me sin The more I drink The wilder the kink.”

Kolmo: “I want gin. Give me gin. Gin makes me wanna win. Stand on a bin and grab a fish by its fin, be told by a bouncer called Tim that I’m now not allowed in, which is a sin as I am fabulously thin, because of the gin. No truth lies therein.”

RobinBoy “I want gin. Give me gin. Gin makes me feel like I can finally begin, to lay some beats to the people in the street and get all of you now stamping you feet! GIN! GIN! GIN! GIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN!”

MickMack: “I want gin. Give me gin. Gin makes me feel stupider. Must be the juniper.”

PropJoe: “I want gin. Give me gin. Gin makes me feel like the night is starting. Like the street lights are heating up to illuminate the couple arm in arm on their way for their Saturday date, to silhouette the heaving embrace of a lads’ night out of birthday celebrations.Like the crisp evening air is set to illustrate every profound word uttered through chattering teeth in a city pub doorway. Like life is happening.”
