Photos (colourised by mathematician and software pro Gerald Eichstädt) taken by the Juno Spacecraft during its last transit of Jupiter brought to life by Sean Doran.
Juno flies over the surface of the gaseous planet every 53 days, recording six megabytes of data for two hours which takes 36 hours days to download
An impressive and rather mesmeric interpretation of Vincent Van Gogh’s ‘Starry Night’ (followed by something even more impressive) by Turkish artist Garip Ay using the traditional paper marbling technique of ebru.
Colours are floated on the surface of a viscous watery solution called size before transferring the image to a sheet of paper.
An interactive table created by French artists Adrien Mondot and Claire Bardainne.
The digitally responsive surface reacts to up to 32 simultaneous touches, generating particle animations that swirl around objects placed on top.
The table will be on view at Palais De La Découverte in Paris from June.

A new ‘super-hydrophobic’ surface developed by researchers at Rochester University’s Institute Of Optics that makes water bounce off as if repelled by a magnetic force.
Unlike previous temporarily water-repelling surfaces (like Teflon), this permanently hydrophobic material consists of metal into whose surface microscopic structures are etched with lasers.
Possible applications include waterless toilets, rustproofing and airplane wings that repel ice.
In their slowest video ever, SloMo Guys Gav and Dan observe the popping of soap bubbles more than 700 times slower than normal with a Phantom v1610 which shoots 18,000fps at 720p.
A workspace concept by Media Computing Group what sez:
BendDesk is a multi-touch desk environment that seamlessly combines a vertical and a horizontal surface with a curve into one large interactive workspace. This workspace can be used to display any digital content like documents, photos, or videos. Multi-touch technology allows the user to interact with the entire surface using direct manipulation and multi-touch gestures. We took special care for ergonomics. Users can comfortably sit at the desk and place everyday objects on it.

Topographical Light Paintings by photographer Janne Parviainen who exposes these shots for up to 30 minutes as he moves about the room tracing surfaces and objects with point-source lights.
We especially like pic 3, entitled ‘Nazgul’s Private Moment’
