Vintage photos deftly remixed (Terry Gillam style, but no less worthy for that) into hilarious gifs by Brooklyn artist and animator Cari Vander Yacht, who acquires the random shots in thrift shops, then scans and converts them. Sez she:

At a certain point, one must justify their creepy acquisition of other people’s pasts. Either you make up stories about how you’re related to the people in the pictures or you animate them.

The launch in Dublin today of a campaign by The Union of Students in Ireland to encourage home-owners in Dublin to “consider housing a student during term-time“.

Wait, come back.

They say

“As a short-term measure to support the initiative, the Union of Students in Ireland has put together a simple website, allowing home owners to list their spare rooms and their conditions, with the objective of providing students with contacts for those willing to help. The system also allows for landlords and agents to place their available accommodation online – and it’s free to use. ..”

Fair play though, in fairness.

Any takers?

A rather wonderful exhibition at an abandoned corner shop in Bethnal Green, East London by British artist and knitting-nut Lucy Sparrow.

The Corner Shop (initially funded by a Kickstarter campaign)  is stocked with a display of 4,000 hand-sewn felt products that took seven months to assemble. Open through August, everything is available to purchase online.

If you could use something Dublin-made, synth-driven yet ‘rockin’ but also containing unusually haunting harmonious overlays and a video preferably shot in Brooklyn.

You’re in luck

“Roll Pt. II” is the second of 2 videos/singles released this summer from Bantum.
The video is directed by J Cooper and filmed in New York, and the song features Eimear O’Donovan and Owensie on vocals.”
