Kilbarrack [Dublin 5] resident Sean Barrett Byrne displays the model railway he has built during lockdown.
Based loosely on the fictional neighbourhood of Barrystown from the novels of Roddy Doyle, it has taken him roughly 11 months to complete.
Includes Dublin Bus porn.
In fairness.

This afternoon.
Dingle, County Kerry.
It is believed the tomb may date to the Bronze Age (2000BC-500BC), but it could be even earlier as it displays a number of highly unusual features.
Archaeologists from the National Monuments Service and the National Museum of Ireland visited the site yesterday to carry out an initial survey.
The authorities say they will not be commenting on the find until a full survey has been completed. It is understood the oval-shaped stone has been removed for safe keeping.
Local archaeologists say it is a highly unusual and significant find.

@joeliveline absolute disgrace of a show. A priest being defended by raving lunatics for being caught playing with himself in public. “Lovey man” “made a mistake” “only a man” “pillar of the community” works with kids. More like sexual deviant, risk to the public #liveline

The @EU_Commission has concerns regarding the mandatory hotel quarantine in #Ireland for travelers from 5 EU Member States. Today we sent a letter to Irish authorities asking for clarifications. The objective pursued by Ireland could be achieved by less restrictive measures. pic.twitter.com/wcRQVP2Xh4

This afternoon.
“The commission has concerns regarding this measure in relation to the general principles of EU law, in particular proportionality and non-discrimination.
“We have been in contact with the Irish authorities during the past days on this matter. Today the commission sent a letter to the Irish authorities asking for clarifications on this matter and on the criteria used to determine the designated [EU] countries.
“The commission believes that the objective pursued by Ireland, which is the protection of public health during the pandemic, could be achieved by less restrictive measures.”
“We invite the Irish authorities to align more closely their measures taken with the provisions of the council recommendation member states agreed in October and updated earlier this year.”
Christian Wigand, EU Commission Spokesperson for Rule of Law, the Charter of Fundamental Rights, Justice, Consumers and Gender Equality, Employment and Social Affairs.
The commission has given Ireland ten days to respond.

HSE’s Chief Clinical Officer Dr Colm Henry said there is ‘much more to fear’ from the virus than from the AstraZeneca vaccine
This morning.
On Newstalk Breakfast.
HSE’s Chief Clinical Officer Dr Colm Henry said:
“AstraZeneca vaccine is a really good vaccine. I know there was bad publicity, and talk and concern over what have been a very small number of cases.
“I’d say to anybody aged 60-69 who has been offered the AstraZeneca vaccine: take it. You have much more to fear from the virus than you do from the vaccine.”
He said the blood clotting cases are ‘extraordinarily rare’, and has ‘rarely ever’ been reported in older people – hence why its use has been restricted in younger cohorts.

Dr Henry said officials are also looking at whether the gap between Pfizer vaccine doses can be spread out so more adults can get their first dose quicker.
He explained: “For the Pfizer vaccine, if you look at the strict licensing of the drug, you’re allowed to give the second dose up to 42 days… but the current advice we have is up to 28 days.
“The real-world evidence… is [there’s] substantial protection after the first dose. That is not an excuse not to give the second dose, but it may well give some leeway.”

…Social Democrats co-leader Róisín Shortall said:
“Finance Minister Pascal Donohoe said he found out about KBC’s proposed exit when he received a call from the CEOs of KBC and Bank of Ireland at 9pm last night to advise him the banks had entered into a Memorandum of Understanding to sell KBC’s performing loans to AIB.
“It is concerning that the Minister was apparently among the last to know of the banks’ plans, given their serious implications for both staff and consumers.”
