The extraordinarily delicate, becrowned porcelain skulls of Japanese artist Katsuyo Aoki. To wit:

…symbols representing power and glory, as well as the weight of responsibility. The crown takes on a variety of forms and context in Aoki’s exhibition throughout. As religious icons, they appear as a symbol of holy righteousness, but when placed on top of a skull, become a possible warning about the repercussions of the wearer’s reign.

The skulls are part of Dark Glove – an exhibition of Aoki’s work at Jason Jacques Gallery in New York which, if you’re in the neighbourhood, continues until February 21.

Want to experience the most extensive train set in the world?

Well, you could visit Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg and watch 900 model trains wend their way around nine acres of tiny dioramas on 13km of track.

Or you could visit Google’s 360° mapped version.

And make little choo-choo noises. And clap your hands. Whee!

Seriously, would it kill you to put some clothes on?

Martyrdom: the Colouring Book by Hallie Fryd, illustrated by Julia Gfrörer. To wit:

The lives of the saints are filled with inspiring, life-changing moments—but the deaths of the martyrs are where you’ll find the real “Oh, hell no!” moments of history. This adult (very adult, as the body count will quickly indicate) coloring book gives aspiring crayon and paper artists the chance to hone their craft while also buffing up their knowledge of Catholic history
