You may recall Deirdre Mullins, who made a radio documentary last November about a friend who conceived during lunch, via a Danish sperm donor, called Pregnant on my Lunchbreak.
She has now made a short film documentary, called Going The Distance, about her father.
Deirdre writes:
“I made about my father, a running addict who was diagnosed with cancer. It won the audience award at the Dingle Film Festival last year. I’ve just posted it on vimeo this morning and would be very grateful if you would share it.”

His mother is Russian, from a town about 100K from Sochi. My friend and colleague Franz Strasser interviewed him the week before last at his home in Park City, Utah, and made this cool video. I’d be delighted if you’d consider sharing it on Broadsheet…

QuoteFish.
Bit of a trawler.
Simon writes:
I guess this kinda qualifies…Quotefish is a bootstrapped startup based in Wicklow, a kind-of tradesmen.ie but for every kind of small businesses. Since we launched in September last year, we’ve had a few hundred Irish businesses register with us and a few thousand Euros of work offered to them from people looking to give work to local businesses. We’ve also been nominated and runners up or finalists in four awards (that’s almost one a month). If you need something done, don’t pick up the phone, just post it on Quotefish, and businesses will contact you.
Irish-made stuff marked ‘Irish-made stuff’ to broadsheet@broadsheet.ie. No fee. Nothing fishy.
