In The People’s Park, Tullamore, county Offaly.

Johnny ‘Reggae’ Keenan (top left), a familiar face to viewers of Broadsheet on the Telly,  writes:

I’m doing my skankin’ Social Dis-Dancin’ today. Celebrating for 71 minutes the music and message of Bob Marley, in a public display of affection. To celebrate his 36 Years as a ‘Soul Rebel’ and to commemorate 40 Years as a ‘Legend’. I will play all the Bob classics (real classics for the real fans) from a speaker at the bottom of the People’s Park in town.

Bring your positive vibes and let’s get together!

Jah.

Bring skins.

Bohemian FC writes:

Dalymount Park has played a unique part – chiefly in the sporting – but also in the musical and cultural history of Ireland.

The Home of Irish Football was graced in the 1970s by Thin Lizzy and the Boomtown Rats, in the 1980s by Bob Marley, Meatloaf and Black Sabbath, and in the 1990s by Faith No More, Sonic Youth, Ice Cube and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

This jersey, designed by Bohemian FC in conjunction with our new kit supplier O’Neills, gives a nod to that history – and to the stadium’s special place in the hearts of both football and music fans.

In fairness.

James Coffey writes:

Today marks what would have been the 70th birthday of one of music’s most influential and iconic stars, Bob Marley. Irish graphic designer Gary McLoughlin created this print recently in commemoration of Bob Marley’s concert in Dalymount Park, Dublin 25 35 years ago this July.
Some of Gary’s previous works of “Alternative Posters For Irish Movies” was also featured on Broadsheet.ie.
