14 year-old McKenna Pope has been campaigning for gender-neutral toys since last year when she petitioned Hasbro via Change.org to make their classic Easy Bake oven more amenable to boys.

In this perky TED Youth Talk, she makes her case to an audience of slack-jawed little ‘uns, most eloquently for one so young.

A rather charming stop-motion video of Italian toymaker Rosario Calandra at work by Michael Dunlea who sez:

Rosario Calandra from Ventrytoy playfully shows us how he makes just one of his vast collection of 100% Irish handmade wooden toys, “The Bremen Town Musicians”. The video hopefully highlights just how labour intensive it is to make these toys which are unique in design and are made to last. Rosario hails from Sicily but has settled in Ventry village (Ceann Trá) in county Kerry in the West of Ireland. This video will be used to promote Ventrytoy at the upcoming National Crafts and Design Fair 2013 (4th – 8th December) in the RDS, Dublin, Ireland.

Stephen Hannon writes:

I’m just after completing my leaving certificate examinations here in Ireland, and I have just directed my first low budget short film.

G’wan the Stephen!

It’s a comical tribute to Charlie Chaplin with an unusual horror plot line that shows a younger version of him, experiencing some very abnormal circumstances with a lot of laughs. Beginning with an early morning rising, we follow Charlie through out the day, as his mental health is
put into question by what appears to be a ‘stuffed toy’ uprising.

I would really appreciate a reply, with any constructive criticism so that I can improve upon my techniques and further my skills.
