00114424Who will Joe for the Joes?

The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland has upheld two complaints about a Liveline programme broadcast on 5 March.

A listener claimed that presenter Joe Duffy had harassed the editor of the Catholic monthly newspaper Alive and that callers to the show had also abused Fr Brian McKevitt.

The priest had written an article in the magazine in which he compared Taoiseach Enda Kenny to King Herod.

I just released this music video I made for two modern-classical musicians. All of the footage you see of them playing was shot against a greenscreen in a studio in Cork city… I then shot the background landscapes around Cork and Kerry (Gougane Barra, Carrantuohill etc) and spent a month (or two) combining them all together, adding special effects etc.

FAKE!

Are you partial to the moodily-lit robots at all?

If so, you may like one or both of these robo-related sci-fi shorts currently on the Vimeo staff picks list:

Rock ‘n’ roll, eh?

Adrian writes:

Was wondering could you give a concert we’re running called Oriel Live a shout out! Originally the concert was Fortstock 2013 at Clones Co. Monaghan, but due to an issue with the County Council we had to cancel and quickly rebrand it and move to Oriel Park, Dundalk, Co. Louth.

No way to treat Bressie.

We are celebrating the birth of two White crowned mangabeys. The half brother and sister, sired by the dominant male Danzo, were born just two weeks apart to mothers Monifa and Malull.

On the 5th April, Malull gave birth to a male who the keepers named Jomoro, after the western region of Ghana, home to a majority of the world’s population of this rare species. Ten days later Monifa gave birth to a young female who the keepers named Awiane, the capital of the Jomoro district.White crowned mangabeys are endangered in the wild and their numbers are rapidly declining. I come from a society that this is part of their culture to have an Eleventh Night bonfire and what goes into that bonfire is important.

Also some people feel it’s perfectly alright to put the flag of a foreign nation, which actually at one time claimed that they had some right over Northern Ireland.

I’ve no problem about burning of a tricolour on top of a bonfire let’s be honest. I’m not going to make any apologies for that. This is the flag of a foreign country as far as I’m concerned.

It’s just the way we are.”
