moon1 mercury2mrs3venus0neptune4uranus5saturn6jupiter7Artist, writer and space nut Ron Miller imagines what the night sky might look like were the moon to be replaced by various planets of the solar system.

Consider the rules of physics temporarily suspended, whereby all planets retain their current atmospheric conditions and don’t tear us asunder with their immense gravitational fields, etc.

Above (starring as ‘the moon’): the moon, Mercury, Mars, Venus, Neptune, Uranus, Saturn and Jupiter.

What if we had a planet instead of a moon? (Ron Miller, io9)

Mouth-watering Irish-made gaming.

René Laurent writes:

I was wondering if you’d be interested in the news that Little Bee Studios (Irish company based in Dublin) has released a new game on the App Store and it’s selling very well (up to 3rd in Irish Puzzle charts). The game is called Juice Jumpers and it’s available on iPhone and iPad. We have five free games to try out to the first five Broadsheeters to tap these codes into itunes. And please share your thoughts on the game. Thanks.

What you may need to know.

1. Here’s the first proper trailer for the new version of Stephen King’s classic – we’d go remakes of Cujo (1983), Firestarter (1994), It and The Stand.

2. The Brian De Palma version from 1976 remains untouchable. That much is a given.

3. Julianne Moore = evil ginger.

4. We’re kind of sick of trailers that show absolutely bloody everything.

5. Prognosis: Redundant, but fun (see also: forthcoming Evil Dead remake)

Release Date: October

I know you don’t normally talk about MMA [Mixed Martial Arts] but I was wondering if you could spread the word about Dubliner Conor McGregor (above right) who is fighting Marcus Brimage (left) in the UFC tomorrow night in Sweden.
Conor is a legend: a 12-2 record (11 wins by KO), held two world titles in two separate men’s divisions and has the gift of the gab (check out his twitter account @TheNotoriousMMA for that). MTV also did a documentary about him recently.
He is fighting at around 6pm and it can be watched for free on the UFC’s Facebook page. Please show your support for Irish MMA as it continues to rise at a rapid rate and for sure we will see more Irish fighters join Conor in the ranks of the UFC.

Cage fighting?

We’re literally on the fence.
