Washed Up: an ongoing project at the protected Sian Ka’an reserve in Mexico by artist Alejandro Duran, who collects the plastic detritus washed up on the Carribbean coast, grading and rearranging it (in rather pleasing ways) to draw attention to ocean pollution.
Transformers: The Ultimate Pop Up Universe by pop-up papercrafter Matthew Reinhart and illustrator/toy designer Emiliano Santalucia. To wit:
Watch as the planet Cybertron changes into an epic battle on Earth. Then look out for the mighty Autobot Omega Supreme — Reinhart’s tallest pop-up ever — as he rises off the page to smash Decepticon foes. In this epic pop-up experience unlike any seen before, only you hold the power to make the Autobots and Decepticons turn from vehicles to robots, and back again.

The Arial family – icky experimental typography (sculpted from clay) by Alex Palazzi, Eudald Carré and Mio Ouchi.




Sculptural heels by footwear brand United Nude, which commissioned architects Zaha Hadid, Ben van Berkel and Fernando Romero, and designers Ross Lovegrove and Michael Young to design them.
Each ladyhoof was then printed on an sPro60 Selective Laser Sintering machine.
