Of the 2013 project, entitled Becoming Otherwise, she sez:

“I am interested in the scientific, intellectual and aesthetic reasons behind the re-creation of the animal. I am exploring how each one could exist in a domestic setting by adapting to their surroundings. Through this, my investigations of the animals have developed by morphing animals and other various objects into newly formed creations”.

A customized aluminium and steel vintage racing motorcycle by Sebastan Errazuriz produced by Worth Motorcycle Company and built by NYC Norton, which goes on show at Art/Basel Miami Beach next month.

The artistic message, aside from the spectacular build, is encapsulated by a taxidermied bird fitted inside a glass sarcophagus in the fuel tank – a symbol of ‘the fragility of life and the recognition of death’.

A light project entitled Lucid Stead by artist Phillip K Smith III unveiled last month in the high desert at Joshua Tree in Califormia.

Composed of mirror, LED lighting, custom built electronic equipment and Arduino programming amalgamated with a preexisting structure, this architectural intervention, at first, seems alien in context to the bleak landscape. Upon further viewing, Lucid Stead imposes a delirious, almost spiritual experience. Like the enveloping vista that changes hue as time passes, Lucid Stead transforms. In daylight the 70 year old homesteader shack, that serves as the armature of the piece, reflects and refracts the surrounding terrain like a mirage or an hallucination.

…an ongoing project about dog grooming. Some people say “grooming is like having a new dog”. Exploring different stages of the grooming process, I discover the multiple dogs hidden in one.

From Moscow-based photographer Alexander Khokhlov’s 2D or not 2D and Angry Beards projects in which – with the help of makeup artist Valeriya Kutsan and retouching expert Veronica Ershova – heexplores the transformative power of paint and makeup.

Inspired by two-dimensional posters, comics, pop art, paintings, pixelated images, and cartoon characters Khokhlov explains:

Valeriya used different techniques of face painting so you can see a lot of variations – from sketch and graphic arts to water-colour and oil-paintings. This is a combination of interesting make-ups, studio photography experiments and careful retouching.
