MusicTown festival HAS returned for its second year [strarted yesterday until April 17]. The festival showcases the vast musical talent and vibrant musical culture of our capital city. The eclectic programme has something for all ages and interests; from classical to pop, trad to rock, psychedelic to opera, electronic and everything in between.
MusicTown has joined with 12 Points Festival for one of the more interesting events of the festival at Meeting House Square, Temple Bar, Dublin 2 on April 13.
Reflecting on the debut of Handel’s Messiah in Dublin and looking to the future of music, 17 innovative young musicians will take to the stage over the night, including London quintet WorldService Project, Nordic punk-pop-jazz with Pixel from Oslo and Dublin’s own hip-hop collective, Mixtapes from the Underground.
All proceeds from this event will go to the Irish Youth Foundation and the Peter McVerry Trust.
