Toronto-based photographer Tom Ryabol and his like-minded chums like to climb to the top of extremely tall buildings and take pictures of their precarious hang-dangling shennanigans.

Photographer Sophie Gamand’s photo series ‘Wet Dog’. Sez she:
In collaboration with Pet Stylist Ruben Santana, I have photographed dogs as they are being washed before grooming. The way the water plays with their hair, and their facial expressions as the water is poured on them creates striking portraits that resemble famous humans or important characters. The dogs become sculptures.

Five animal ‘photomanipulations’ by German digital artist Christophe Meyer.
The animal headswap ‘shop is a well-worn genre but these are particularly well executed.
From a photography project by Ty Foster entitled ‘Lick’ that is self explanatory.
Foster conceived the project last year in the course of another commission. Sez he:
“While running through all the images that were shot I would find myself laughing out loud at how great the expressions were that some of the dogs had while licking in studio. The best way to describe it would be an ‘a-ha’ moment, I just kept thinking to myself, ‘this would be a great book!’”
From a series entitled ‘Just The Two Of Us’ by Austrian photographer Klaus Pitchler, who was invited into the homes of various cosplay enthusiasts to create portraits of each one against the backdrop of their everyday life. Sez he:
Who hasn’t had the desire just to be someone else for awhile? Dressing up is a way of creating an alter ego and a second skin which one’s behaviour can be adjusted to. Regardless of the motivating factors which cause somebody to acquire a costume, the main principle remains the same: the civilian steps behind the mask and turns into somebody else.

Him And Her

From the photoseries ‘Alone Time’ by JJ Levine, wherein apparently hetero couples are portrayed by a single model. Levine describes himself as a:
‘…queer and trans identifying artist…I never alter body shapes or gender traits digitally. These images are convincing by no means other than costume, makeup, pose, and gesture. This technical detail further demonstrates that bodies and gender presentations can be malleable or subject to change’.
