When you shay nothing at all.

Ronan Keating this morning.

Fair play though, in fair playness.

walford‘Walford’, Shrewsbury Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4

Walford, Shresbury  Road, was purchased by Sean Dunne and Gayle Killilea for €58 million in 2006.

Their plan was to build four more properties out the back and triple their money. Or something.

But that was then.

…In its decision refusing permission for the entire development, the board described Walford as an example of the ‘Arts and Crafts’ style from the early 20th century and Shrewsbury Road as being of unique character in Dublin city.

It said development in the garden would interfere with the historic design of the house and its parkland setting.

Planning consultant Dr Diarmuid Ó Gráda, who acted for one of the objectors, said it was a sophisticated decision that looked at the whole streetscape.

“It’s an important decision for the culture and heritage of Dublin,” he said.

Really?

REALLY?

REALLY?

RTÉjr [available on Sky Channel 624,Saorview Channel 7,UPC Channel 600] will air the world premier of a new animation series Nelly and Nora on February 2 at 9:30am.The series follows the stories of two young sisters, Nelly and Nora, who spend their family holidays and weekends in a mobile home camping park by the sea.

Speaking on his idea for the show, creator Gerard O’Rourke said: “This series was inspired by a regular family holiday in Wicklow and is based on our obsession as a nation with the weather.”Gerard noticed that his own two daughters were always playing outside their holiday home, regardless of the weather. While on the other hand, adults tend to allow the weather dictate their every movement.

Joe Doocey.

He dated a woman that was also seeing a guard.

That was the start of the trouble, he claims.

Philip G writes:

Less than 72 hours after posting this video, Joe reported that “up to 20 Gardai and a number of detectives in riot gear” stormed his house while Joe and his family were still in bed. No warrant was shown. Joe was handcuffed. His wife and elderly father were directed to co-operate – “or else!” All Joe’s computers, phones, files and documents were seized – as well as those of his family. Joe was taken to the barracks and charged with obstructing a search warrant – despite no warrant having ever been shown – and no personal ‘obstruction’ on the part of Joe or his family having taken place!
We need to come together to support Joe and his family in face of this appalling abuse of statutory powers and an inexcusable personal attack on a citizen’s fundamental rights.
…Please stand by for more on this very disturbing development. Joe will NOT be left alone to deal with this.

My current series is inspired by the classic horror literature of H.P. Lovecraft, Algernon Blackwood and similar authors. I am intrigued with the narrative archetypes these writers utilize to transform the commonplace into something sinister and foreboding. In my work, I prefer to use these devices as a means to generate entry points for the viewer. I’m interested in occupying a space where the mundane intersects the strange, and the familiar becomes alien. In a sense, I am attempting to render the sublime.

Kingsmen stuntman and former Daniel Craig body double Adam Kirley on the stuntly art (which on no account you should attempt to replicate) of exiting a moving car.

Get on all fours in the foot well facing the door. Everyone’s first instinct is to put their hands or legs down first. That’s the worst thing you can do: you will break something. The pointy parts of your body hurt – elbows, knees, hips, ankles. Put your fists under your chin, and bring your elbows together. Keep your chin tucked in to your chest to protect your head. The best point of impact is the back of the shoulder and your back. If you dive out directly onto your shoulder you’ll break it.
