it’s not a baguette.

It’s a Bánh Mì.

A what!?

Clare at Diep writes:

Diep, Dublin’s finest Thai food delivery service are very excited about the launch of their Diep Banh Mì Sandwich. A Bánh Mì (Vietnamese for bread ) is the fusion of French baguette and Vietnamese taste. The sandwich holds all of the most flavoursome ingredients of Vietnamese cuisine with a delicate balance of herbs and spices.

Splendid.

Inside the crisp bread of the Diep Bánh Mì Mì you will find cucumber, coriander, mint, pickled carrot marinated in either chicken satay or braised rending beef.

Got it.

At €5.50 you are getting a whole lot more value and taste for your money than with a regular sandwich.

Stop that.

To celebrate our new Banh Mi sandwich we will give away a meal for TWO (yes two) Broadsheet readers, TWO starters, TWO mains and bottle of wine delivered this weekend. To enter just Just complete this sentence:

I feel winning this could be away I gain respect from the big dogs of the site. The Clampers, the Speghetti Hoops, Jock and the goys….. I just want to be liked. Just one +1 even. I’m so alOwen.”

Further to your post earlier in the week. i got this shot of the LE Aisling sailing majestically past the Point Nua as she heads out to sea.
One of the reasons I like Aisling and her sister ships LE Deirdre, LE Emer and LE Aoife is they were built here in Ireland, in the Verolme dockyards [Cork]. I am subject to correction, but I think Aisling was the last ship built there before they closed. Soon, she will be the last of her sisters left in service. Fair winds and following seas!

‘sup?

You may recall a post from Wednesday about Scottie, who was stolen from outside Superquinn in Lucan, Co. Dublin.

Well.

He’s BACK!

Dublin SPCA writes:

“We are delighted to let you all know that Scottie the stolen terrier has been found. He was handed into our shelter in Rathfarnham yesterday and the owner has come straight up to collect him. We will never know what happened between Scottie having been taken and his return but the main thing is he is unharmed and on his way home. Thank you all so much for sharing we strongly believe this has resulted in Scottie being found.”

Another Day by LCG.

Jimmy The Head writes:

“Any chance you could share this video I made and released yesterday for a local rapper called L.C.G.? I think its a quality example of homegrown hip-hop plus I’m quite happy with how the video turned out. I’m an animator by trade so always like to get in a few fancy graphics to whatever I make. Lyle is Irish/Filipino living in Dublin – before the comments have a field day, he learned to speak English from American teachers in the Philippines so he does have a slight accent…”

I know you don’t normally do this, but my beloved Specialised Sirrus 2010 and my girlfriend’s just-purchased Specialised Vita 2014 were both stolen from my garden shed last night. My house is near Ravensdale park, between Crumlin and Kimmage [Dublin].My bike has a unique Ween/Grateful Dead sticker facing upwards on the crossbar, as pictured. I would really really appreciate if anyone has any information about our bikes.

Anyone?
