Wolfcop Poster-1

What you may need to know:

1. Alcoholic small town cop Lou Garou (Leo Fafard) gets himself cursed. When the moon is full he transforms into… Wolfcop!

2. A sequel for this Canadian horror comedy has already been greenlit.

3. Look at that poster! JUST LOOK AT IT!!! Stellar work from TheDudeDesigns.com

4. If you’re of “a certain vintage,” then it’ll remind you of a time when video libraries were filled with cheese from companies like Embassy and Gorgon Video, and every movie had a cover like this.

5. The scene where Wolfcop kills three bank robbers in pig masks is worth the price of entry alone.

6, Broadsheet Prognosis: Deliciously rubbish, but then what were you expecting from a movie called WolfCop?

The Chemin de fer de Petite Ceinture (‘Little Belt Railway’) in Paris, built in 1852, largely abandoned since 1935 (aside from one increasingly underused section), lovingly documented since 2011 by photographer Pierre Folk.

As local developers eyeball the land for new apartments and office blocks, Parisian railway enthusiasts want it preserved, possibly transformed into a series of urban parkways like the nearby Promenade Plantée which inspired New York’s High Line.

A public rally today in support of the locked out Greyhound Workers at the Greyhound Depot on Crag Avenue in Clondalkin, Dublin.

The workers have been outside since June 17 when they were informed that unless they accepted a 35 percent pay cut and a reduction in other terms and conditions they would not be allowed to start work. They were replaced with minimum wage-paying agency crews.

Daragh OConnorDaragh and his Epic Mountain bike

Brighid O’Connor writes:

“Please help! This is my lovely late husband Daragh on his Specialized Epic mountain bike. He loved his bike. I have been keeping it for the past 3 years until my son would be big enough to ride it and I handed it in to Tramore cycle services [Broad Street, Tramore, Co Waterford] on Thursday 14th August for a service. It was waiting near the door for collection and an unknown young man collected it on Wednesday/Thursday 20th/21st.. He told them his aunt had dropped it in. Needless to say we are really upset because of the sentimental value involved….”

Anyone?
