Art du Temps: a mechanical, Swiss-made wall clock designed by illi and Julien Ado.
In passive mode, it’s a rectangular board of articulating squares, moving randomly to indicate the passage of seconds. To activate the clock, you “ask” the time via voice command, whereupon the squares rearrange to reveal a ‘mechanical-digital’ display.
Available from March 2011.
The price? €69,660.
