Tá scamaill sa spéir

Beidh dráma aon-ghnímh leis an bhfile agus drámadóir clúiteach Biddy Jenkinson don teideal Mise, Subhó agus Maccó á léiriú sa New Theatre, Barra an Teampaill, Baile Átha Cliath, ar an 25ú/26ú/27ú de Mheán Fómhair.

Dúirt Áine Moynihan:

“Tá dian-obair curtha isteach ag foireann an dráma seo chun caighdeán ard léirithe a bhaint amach agus cé nach bhfuilimid mar chuid oifigiúil den bhFéile Drámaíochta is mian linn ár gcuid a dhéanamh chun cur le drámaíocht na Gaeilge sa chathair le linn na Féile. Tá ábhar an dráma seo tráthúil mar gheall ar an ngéarchéim a bhaineann le heaspa dídine na laethanta seo, go háirithe i mBaile Átha Cliath agus ba mhaith linn cabhrú chun áird a tharraingt ar an bhfulaingt a bhaineann leis.”

Ticéidí ar fáil ag 01 6703361 nó ag an doras ar €12/10.

Faiseanta!

If you like your austerity and public hate figures soundtracked with a rockish pop melody

They were tall and tender.

Sibling of Daedalus writes:

Reputedly the tallest identical twins ever recorded, at 7 foot 2 inches tall, the Knipe Brothers of Magherafelt, Co Derry toured London as ‘the Gigantic Irish Twins’ in 1784.
There they became known not only for their height but their sweet natures.
Height ran in the family;  Charles Byrne, who stood 7 foot 7 inches tall was their distant cousin. A recent examination of Byrne’s bones shows that his height was due to a rare genetic mutation causing pituitary tumours; presumably the Knipe twins suffered from the same condition.
