A sumptuous timelapse of Rio de Janeiro that attempts to avoid ‘the cliches and stereotypes of this city to make a video that shows Rio with other eyes’.

Filmed by Rio natives Andre Delacerda and Diogo Fagunde

A rather beautiful timelapse by Andrew Walker compiled from shots of a tour of Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic in September.

Shot (if you relish such detail) with Canon 5D Mark III, Canon and Ziess lenses, a Dynamic Perception Stage R Pan/Tilt head being controlled by a eMotimo controller in a 3D printed box.

A stop motion timelapse from filmmaker Jeff Frost combining 300,000 photographs taken over the last two years: from riots and decomposing roadkill to optical illusions painted by himself inside abandoned buildings. The film – vaguely intended as an exploration of ‘creation and destruction’ – was made without graphics or visual effects.

It’s quite the visual treat and, if you can spare 12 minutes, well worth watching right to the end.

A timelapse of the Catalonian capital by MyLapse (in the style of Ross Ching’s Empty America series) featuring views of the city with all the people and vehicles removed.

The effect is probably executed via a combination of timing and digital editing in much the same style as Ching’s videos, explained here.
