Applex

But one comes away from the document feeling that there is much more that could be said about what Apple is up to in Cork.

Take, for example, this Catch 22, offered baldly as a statement of fact:

AOI is incorporated in Ireland and based in Cork; thus, under US law, it is not tax resident in the US. AOI is also not tax resident in Ireland because it does not meet the fact-specific residency requirements of Irish law.”

Designed by artists Joe O’Connell and Blessing Hancock, the chandeliers are currently installed, and lit by night, beneath an overpass in San Antonio, Texas. The artists say:

The medallions are a play on the iconography of La Loteria, which has become a touchstone of Hispanic culture. Utilizing traditional tropes like La Escalera (the Ladder), La Rosa (the Rose), and La Sandía (the Watermelon), the piece alludes to the neighborhood’s farming roots and horticultural achievements. Each character playfully rides a bike acting as a metaphor for the neighborhood’s environmental progress, its concurrent eco-restoration projects, and its developing cycling culture.

High-tech DNA sequencing techniques allowed them to decode ancient DNA from the pathogen in samples stored as early as 1845.
These were compared with modern-day genetic types from Europe, Africa and the Americas, giving an insight into the evolution of the pathogen.
This strain was different from all the modern strains that we analysed – most likely it is new to science,” Prof Sophien Kamoun of The Sainsbury Laboratory told BBC News.
“We can’t be sure but most likely it’s gone extinct.”

simonmaher bus

You may recall last week’s soft-core, then orange-coloured 1984 D635 parked at the Malahide, Co Dublin, beach terminus.

Well, the bus went on to have several lives as a ‘mature’ double decker.

Before radio’s Simon Maher (above) and Steve Conway fell for the x-rated charms of the retro bone rattler.

Simon sez:

Following on from your picture of myself and Steve Conway’s bus, This is her (centre) taken this week as she awaits restoration to her former glory :)  Capital D [presented By Ann Cassin] also did an item on her (video above).

BKus0JCCUAIRwkG20/03/2013. New Suicide Research Report Reveals th By highlighting suicide in abortion legislation is the state legitimising it?

HE (above) decided,

University College Dublin professor of psychiatry Kevin Malone  in a letter (top) to Jerry Buttimer TD [who is chairing the Oireachtas hearings on the matter] suggests:

Such legislation could accelerate suicide rates in younger men in Ireland (where the real problem lies).

Anyone?
