Is now the Oriel Festival and is happening in Dundalk.

Rock ‘n’ roll, eh?

Adrian writes:

Was wondering could you give a concert we’re running called Oriel Live a shout out! Originally the concert was Fortstock 2013 at Clones Co. Monaghan, but due to an issue with the County Council we had to cancel and quickly rebrand it and move to Oriel Park, Dundalk, Co. Louth.

No way to treat Bressie.

Kelley Cousins writes:

We are celebrating the birth of two White crowned mangabeys. The half brother and sister, sired by the dominant male Danzo, were born just two weeks apart to mothers Monifa and Malull.

On the 5th April, Malull gave birth to a male who the keepers named Jomoro, after the western region of Ghana, home to a majority of the world’s population of this rare species. Ten days later Monifa gave birth to a young female who the keepers named Awiane, the capital of the Jomoro district.White crowned mangabeys are endangered in the wild and their numbers are rapidly declining. Dublin Zoo is one of twelve zoos in Europe participating in a breeding programme and has a very successful breeding record.

I come from a society that this is part of their culture to have an Eleventh Night bonfire and what goes into that bonfire is important.

Also some people feel it’s perfectly alright to put the flag of a foreign nation, which actually at one time claimed that they had some right over Northern Ireland.

I’ve no problem about burning of a tricolour on top of a bonfire let’s be honest. I’m not going to make any apologies for that. This is the flag of a foreign country as far as I’m concerned.

It’s just the way we are.”
