A rather wonderful exhibition at an abandoned corner shop in Bethnal Green, East London by British artist and knitting-nut Lucy Sparrow.

The Corner Shop (initially funded by a Kickstarter campaign)  is stocked with a display of 4,000 hand-sewn felt products that took seven months to assemble. Open through August, everything is available to purchase online.

An cascade of ceramic poppies commemorating the dead of WW1 by ceramic artist Paul Cummins.

Entitled Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red, the work (still under construction) will ultimately comprise 888,246 red ceramic flowers planted in the dry moat around the Tower Of London.

The final symbolic poppy will be planted on November 11th, at which point the display will end.

Animal sculptures wrapped in five-needle lace, handmade cotton crochet webbing by Portuguese artist Joana Vasconcelos. The animals are reproductions of oversized ceramic pieces by the 19th century Portuguese artisan Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro (1846-1905).

The idea being to one-up the works with an overlay of feminine domesticity, radicalising preconceived notions of modernism, tradition and motherhood.

Where is your God now?

And we’re done here.

Quebec’s Parc de la Gorge de Coaticook transformed into Foresta Lumina – a magical illuminated trail by Montreal based studio Moment Factory.

The display includes a 2km trail through illuminated groves, peopled by shadowy figures and projected nocturnal shenanigans including an atmospheric portal installed at the end of the longest suspension bridge in North America.
