A litter of crossbreed puppies were found in a cardboard box in a garden at just five-days old in Finglas, Dublin
‘sup?
This morning.
Via Dogs Trust:
We are appealing for public support after seeing an influx of surrendered and abandoned dogs, including a box of five-day-old puppies that was recently handed into their rehoming centre in Dublin.
A member of the public discovered the abandoned litter of four crossbreed pups in his garden in Finglas, in a cardboard box. The man immediately brought the tiny siblings to Dogs Trust where it was established by the charity’s Veterinary team that they were no more than five days old.
Niamh Curran-Kelly, Veterinary and Welfare Manager at Dogs Trust Ireland said::
“Puppies of this age are completely and utterly dependant on their mum. Their eyes and ears are closed and they’re unable to toilet themselves or regulate their body temperature, so they wouldn’t have survived much longer their own.
“Thankfully, they got to us in time so we could give them the care they needed, including bottle feeding and toileting them every two hours. Sadly, the smallest of the litter passed away, despite veterinary intervention but unfortunately this is quite common with orphaned puppies.”

There are people who’ll want to put more
Of their savings in gold
And now we are told
That prices are starting to soar

Thank Feckula it’s Friday.
It’s that time of the week when the jets are cooled, chill pills are taken and the chamomile tea kicks in (Just as well as there’s still no voucher!)
This week I want to know what’s your favourite song about or mentioning a specific animal.
Here’s mine.
Please include video links if possible.
Lines close on Saturday at Midnight.
Last week I asked you to name your favourite song about the sun. Johnny “Diego” Keenan (him off the telly) won my esteem with this entry…
Bob Marley – Sun Is Shining (House remix)
Johnny writes:
“When I was Down Under in 1999, I went from night club to day club most Saturdays/ Sundays. Anyone who was around Sydney back then might remember Kings X clubbing finishing after The Beresford and the soul train to North Sydney was always one for the party troopers.
“This particular remix brought it all together, and I feel it brought on board another generation of Bob fans.
“Sun is shining, the weather is sweet. Makes you wanna move yer dancin feet”. Grrr Up!”
Nick says: Congratulations Johnny and thanks everyone for entering.
Last week: Win Nick’s Esteem
Sounds amazing. Can’t wait to watch it live on @rte. Should be quite the exciting spectacle. 🙄
