Taxidermy meets Frankenstein with wee antlers, tiny arms, and wings, and a tree stump for a seat…… oh, and a hat. and what looks like a fishing rod. And it likes old Playstation games. But what is, or was it?

Anyone?

Filmed in mid-March.

Photographer Noel Keating writes:

Slieve League – the highest sea cliffs in Europe, located on the north west coast of Ireland in the county of Donegal… possible the most magical place in Ireland to try and capture the Aurora.. I often imagined what the Aurora would look like in this location, but never expected to see it this strong..

Mongrel State – How Many More Times

Claudio writes:

I manage a Dublin and called Mongrel State. We just released our debut single, recorded with Gavin Glass at Orphan Recording.  We are very proud of it and we would like you to check our brand new video for it: As director Ciaran Dooleys said, the idea behind the video is very simple, we wanted to accompany the stomping and happy mood of the song, with colorful images and backgrounds but also introduce the band in each of its members, showing  characters and chemistries.

Under Section 5 (4) of the Electoral Act 1963, Irish citizens overseas may retain full voting rights as continuing stakeholders within the polity for a period of 18 months, should they intend to return to Ireland within that timeframe…

Trudi writes:

“My friend Joey and his amazing friends are organising the Get the Boat 2 Vote campaign to get young Irish immigrants home from the UK to vote onMay 22nd. They just penned a letter to Ryanair (above) asking to help out with flights and I think the more coverage the better, so you’d nearly give them a shout out! Next, a letter to Emirates to get us all home from Aussie!”

Pika-1 Ili-Pika Ila-Pika
Rare pictures from 2014 of the sadly endangered Ili Pika.

Part rabbit, part adorable rock-climbing teddy-bear, it lives in the Tian Shan mountains of China and was originally discovered in 1983 by conservationist Li Weidong.

Its numbers have dwindled alarmingly since then.
