I design greeting cards, framed prints and more (baby/wedding stationery) and have been spreading Christmas around Dublin by surprising people around the city today, leaving little Christmas surprises for them at bus stops, in the Dublin Bike baskets, on postboxes, parking ticket machines etc.
The surprise contains one of my first ever collection of Christmas Cards for the lucky recipient to send/give to someone special encouraging people to be more traditional this year and to let someone know they care with a handwritten card. There was also something sweet in the bag to add to the Christmas cheer….

‘Singers Corner’ Washington Street and Grand Parade, Cork
Gregory Higgins writes:
The people of Cork have had something very special to look at over the last number of weeks thanks to Johnny Bugler of Cork Printmakers [and artists Conall Cary, Fiona Kelly, Dominic Fee and Cathal Duane]. They have transformed Singers Corner [Johnny drew his inspiration from the old black sewing machines Singer’s Sewing Shop once sold below] and this very cool video (above) shows the transformation….

Jenny Walsh writes:
I have a couple of new Ireland shaped designs and a few people have suggested I get in touch with you about them. The first is called ‘The Country Shaped Like A Bear’ and has a bear hidden inside Ireland’s silhouette. Do you see it? Made by drawing, laser cutting and then glueing 11 layers of corrugated card, this bowl makes a great desk tidy (€30).
The Irish bowl is designed to subtly contain the shape of Ireland without being too obvious or twee. Made from 15 pieces of beautifully finished 4mm thick birch plywood with 50 hand-glued joints at €55. They are available from my website [link below] and come with free delivery and complimentary gift wrapping in silver paper with a red satin ribbon. Order by Friday for Xmas delivery…
Lovely.

RTE 2 reality star and former escort Kate McGrew flanked by masked sex workers from the Sex Workers Alliance of Ireland (SWAI) at a vigil to mark International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers outside Leinster House, Kildare Street, Dublin.
The SWAI is an alliance of sex workers, ex-sex workers and others alongside organisations involved in health and social support services.
They oppose laws criminalising the purchase of sex as only a “human rights approach based on harm reduction and decriminalisation” will protect sex workers and give them access to their rights.
