Blank Tape, a documentary on the return of cassette as a leading physical format in experimental electronic music.

Writes Anton Spice:

Rather than make a film about the so-called “tape revival”, we wanted to hear from the makers themselves to understand what it is about tape that remains so attractive. It features labels like Sacred Tapes, Tesla Tapes and Astro:Dynamics, Warp distributors Bleep and producers Helm and Ekoplekz whose music has sprung the underground to find a home on PAN and Planet Mu.

Lower John Street, Cork, last night.

A vacant apartment block behind the Heineken brewery caught fire, with the entire building becoming engulfed in flames, smoke and embers billowing into other nearby buildings.

Residents of other blocks and properties, including Mike’s gaff Broadsheet’s Cork office, were evacuated, some acting on advice to bring valuables.

Cork City Fire Brigade had the fire under control by 9.30, continuing to douse the area and work for another hour or so.

No injuries have been reported.

‘sup?

Earlier this month we asked you to nominate your pet for a portrait by Jane Fogarty at PawPawPawPawPrints.

Jane creates vector images drawn on a graphics pad using Adobe Illustrator and prints on extremely high quality paper.

Dad of three Dee Cunniffe secured this dazzling portrait of Mimi (above), who was a beloved family cat for 10 years and sadly put down last month after an illness.

Thanks all.

PawPawPawPawPrints can look after all your animal portrait needs and only require a photo of your pet to deliver a memorable stocking filler.

A friend of mine did a thing (which I found out about recently): Pope tweets. Then Robo Pope tweets back the same tweet. But in between its translated from English to Japanese back to English back to Japanese and so on. Fifteen times each way. Sometimes it’s gibberish. But sometimes a little bit funny.
