What you may need to know.
1. Following a teaser last month, Director Baz Lurhmannn has released the full trailer for the upcoming biopic of Elvis starring Austin Butler as the rock icon and Tom Hanks as his manager Colonel Tom Parker.
2. We get a trip through the three decades of the star’s career, which lasted from his breakthrough in 1956 to his untimely death at 42 in 1977, including the famous, 1968 comeback special.
3. Hanks plays the villain of the story who meets Elvis at a fairground and signs him.
4. And lastly, we see Elvis in one of his white jumpsuits, backstage with his Memphis Mafia and backing singers, ready to perform at one of his 1970s Las Vegas residencies.
Andy’s verdict: Stock up on the peanut and jelly sandwiches, it looks a good one!

This morning.
Via Irish Times:
Two years and a month after it first met at the outset of the Covid-19 pandemic, the National Public Health Emergency Team (Nphet) is to be disbanded.
In a letter to Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly on Thursday night following a meeting of the group earlier, chief medical officer Dr Tony Holohan recommended Nphet be stood down.
Though Ministers and senior officials continue to insist the pandemic is “not over”, the move is the clearest sign yet that the public health emergency it triggered is coming to an end.
