Free tonight?

Of course you are.

With a captive audience to please, Cork troubadour John Blek will be playing songs from his new album The Embers as well as older tunes from the comfort of his living room to the world wide web of music fans.

John says:

“Ok folks, I will go live tonight at 9.25pm GMT and the gig will start at 9.30pm over on the Coughlan’s Live Facebook page. Go and give their page a like! Then when the link goes up you have 5 mins to share it with anyone interested. Spread the word!

I will be passing the virtual hat using PayPal if anyone feels like offering ticket price or whatever you can afford. No pressure!

This is the first time I’ve been nervous about a gig in a very long time! “

“Still nothing but coconut flour in the shops. Might have to start making coconut bread. How bad can it be?”

From top: Claire Byrne; question allegedly put to members of the public as part of an Amárach Research survey for RTÉ’s Claire Byrne Live

This afternoon.

Sinn Féin TD Eoin Ó Bróin tweetz:

I am absolutely appalled by this question. Claire Byrne Live and RTÉ should withdraw this survey. Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael are actively excluding Sinn Féin from talks. Sinn Féin is doing everything we can to form a Government. Appalling bias here.

A poster headlined “Kilkee Residents Health Defence” is circulating on social media and purporting to have been place on a wall in Kilkee, Co Clare.

The Limerick Leader reports:

“…a local councillor is asking people who may have had the poster delivered in their letterbox to alert the gardai as it is “a crime scene”. “I have yet to find someone who has a physical copy of it. We’ve gone viral with an image,” said Fianna Fail councillor Cillian Murphy, a resident of Kilkee.

Debenham’s on Henry, Street, Dublin

This afternoon.

Further to Debenhams saying its Irish outlets that it would not be affected by the company’s decision to place its UK outlets into administration and that it planned to reopen its Irish stores after the Covid-19 restrictions are lifted…

Barry Whyte, in the Business Post, reports:

Debenhams has told its staff it is pulling out of Ireland and will not reopen its 11 shops around the country.

In a letter to staff this morning, the troubled department store chain said it would be appointing a liquidator to the Irish arm of the company next week.

It closed its British and Irish stores at the end of last month because of Covid-19 restrictions, and the company is appointing an administrator.

Self-help for self-isolators: surviving yourself in quarantine.

Keano, of FRO Films, writes:

Self-help books through the heady days of the 1980s and the 1990s coached us how to maximise our relationships with our partners, families and dogs.

Now in the new world of isolation, we need to adapt this self-empowerment to handle our relationship with ourself while in our new self confinement.

Are you driving yourself nuts distracting yourself while trying to work from home?

Are you bored of yourself ranting on with the same nonsense every day as you start to talk to yourself?

Here are some quarantine hacks to survive self-isolation with yourself.
