Restrictions in Australia’s New South Wales forbids dancing…

…except at weddings.

Meanwhile…

In Washington DC:

As wedding season kicks off in May, D.C. has a strict new rule in place. Guests cannot dance or stand during a wedding cocktail hour or reception...For some couples no dancing and standing is a deal breaker so they’re looking to move their wedding to a place where restrictions are looser like their hometowns or Virginia or Maryland. In Virginia, weddings are capped at 50 people indoors and 100 outdoors.

However, starting May 15, those numbers will increase to 100 people inside and 250 outside. Over in Maryland, outdoor and indoor venues can operate at 50% capacity. Both states do not have any sort of ban on dancing and standing during weddings like there is in D.C.

Brigid Mae Power – Head Above The Water

Let’s move to the country.

Gorgeous images of the wild western Irish landscape light up the video for the title track of Brigid Mae Power‘s excellent album on Fire Records.

The film was shot by Brigid (top) and Jonny Sanders aka Prehuman and “uses effects that replicate the cyanotype photo printing process”.

Brigid says:

“I shot some footage of the surrounding landscape where I live, feeling very drawn to filming the water and damp boglands around me.”

Nick says: Mae the roads rise with you.

Musician Jim Corr’s complaint over an article that described him as a an ‘online quack’ has not been upheld by the Press ombudsman

Jim Corr thought, for the crack
He’d complain when he was called a quack
But the ombudsman found
The description was sound
Which must feel like a stab in the back
