I Have A Tribe – Monsoon

Nick Kenny writes:

Lovely tune for a Monday afternoon. Check out Dublin lad Patrick O’Leary’s band I Have A Tribe. They’re supporting Anna Calvi on her upcoming European tour and have recorded an EP.

-2 Finbarr Furey (right) launches into the ballad The Green Fields of France at the launch of the book The Green Fields Of France with pupils from St Paul’s YEP {Youth Education Project}, Finglas, Dublin.

The Green Fields Of France (the buke) was written by (top from left) Ciaran, O’Connor, Jamie Broughan, Aaron Boylan with Michael McDonagh (not pictured) helped by their teacher Nora Kielty.

It “examines the life of young [fictional] Willie McBride {killed in the First World War] and looks at questions posed through the lyrics of the song”.

FIGHT!

*The buke published by Glasnevin Cemetery Museum will be available in the museum’s gift shop.

To be in with a chance to win, just complete this sentence.

If I were the 8th person of restricted height living with Snow White my name would be____________ owing to my______________________

Lines close at 5.15pm. 6.15pm. No cash, favours, tickets were given for this post. Indeed, we even promised to print this:

The Gaiety Theatre has hosted the annual Christmas Panto each year since 1873. Today, families come from far and wide to the Gaiety Christmas Panto and for many it has become a true Christmas tradition. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs will begin a 6-week run from December 1 – 12th January 2014. Standard tickets are priced from €19.50 and are on sale now from usual outlets nationwide.

Niall Davis in pleasing city centre-Dublin Mountains pro-cycling propaganda.

Daniel Gray, of Visit Dublin, writes;

We invited Niall Davis of biking.ie to get from the city centre to Ticknock on his pair of wheels. Follow him through the winding streets of Dublin up to the forested mountains as he gets to grips with some serious mountain biking.
