Pop Wallace – Synthetic Dancing Shoes

Do you wanna trance?

Born in Carlow but now living in Phoenix, Arizona, singer/producer Pop Wallace (top) goes all in with this instrumental deep house groove that might take some listeners back to the halcyon days of The Kitchen.

Pop writes:

“For anyone who’s ever done yolks while watching the cyberpunk collection ads on manga entertainment videos…”

Nick says: Pop art.

Ewoks out of shot.

Behold: a memorable shot taken by photographer Will Godward who knew that celestial objects directly overhead are seen more clearly because their light is scattered least by atmospheric air. And so, around midnight in Southern Australia….

Chasing his mental picture, he ventured deep inside the Kuipto Forest where tall radiata pines blocked out much of the sky — but not in this clearing. There, through a window framed by trees, he captured his envisioned combination of local and distant nature. Sixteen exposures of both trees and the Milky Way Galaxy were recorded. Antares is the bright orange star to left of our Galaxy’s central plane, while Alpha Centauri is the bright star just to the right of the image center. The direction toward our Galaxy’s center is below Antares. Although in a few hours the Earth’s rotation moved the Galactic plane up and to the left — soon invisible behind the timber, his mental image was secured forever — and is featured here.

Rumours abound that Jodi Whittaker (above) may step down as Doctor Who

This may seem bizarre yet it’s true
But even fans of Doctor Who
Say it’s gone on too long
And is no longer strong
And a break might be the thing to do

How long?

John Mulcahy writes;

Digital Covid Certificate helpline are being told to expect to wait at least 90 minutes before they can talk to an agent. This was my 3 hour experience.

Rogue operators” who “step out of line” from government guidelines to stop the unvaxxed from entering restaurants will be closed down immediately, Adrian Cummins (above) chief executive of the Restaurants Association of Ireland warned earlier

This morning/afternoon.

Meanwhile..

Representatives from the restaurant and bar sector will this evening meet Government officials as work continues on guidelines ahead of the anticipated reopening of indoor hospitality next week.

The question of whether or not there will be time limits on the indoor service in bars and restaurants will be examined.

The issue of social distancing requirements, along with air ventilation measures, are also up for discussion.

The expectation within Government currently is that indoor hospitality will reopen next week for fully vaccinated people and those who have recovered from Covid-19.

This is contingent on President Michael D Higgins signing the necessary legislation, which was passed by the Dáil and Seanad last week.
